It is my goal here at Hope to create the best school in the city. To accomplish that, there have been many welcomed changes. We relocated the library, added both a Music teacher and a Spanish teacher, and improved parent/teacher communication and classroom discipline.

But there is still more to accomplish for next year! As you are considering enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year, I want to highlight a few more changes and additions for next year.

First, we will be restructuring our preschool program. We will be offering a 2-day, 3-day, 5-day, and full-day options for both three-year-olds and four-year-olds. In addition, we are introducing a Liberal Arts focused Enrichment class for two-year-olds through four-year-olds in the afternoon. This multi-age class will provide opportunities to learn music, Spanish, art, and technology. In addition, we will be expanding the hours of our preschool program from 2-1/2 hours per day to 3 hours per day.

For Kindergarten through sixth grade, there are also several exciting changes. We will be working on the construction of a dedicated art room. Of course, this also means the hiring of a part-time art teacher. In the area of technology, we will be incorporating our Lego curriculum into the classroom beginning in first grade. Students will work in small groups on different challenges and projects. We will also be adding typing skills to the curriculum on a regular basis.

To enroll for the first time or to re-enroll, you will be requested to fill out an enrollment package. This year, we revised the enrollment forms to assist us in better serving the needs of our families and students. A complete enrollment package can be picked up in the school office.
