AR STORE & AUCTION ~ We are still in need of donations of prizes for our upcoming AR store. All help and donations will be greatly appreciated!

FAREWELL TO MRS. KOEPPLIN ~ Due to a family member’s health issues, Mrs. Koepplin, our White Team teacher, has decided not to return next year. We give thanks for the love and care she has given all of her students this year and wish her God’s blessings as she cares for her family.

END OF THE YEAR PICNIC ~ Our end-of-the-year picnic is scheduled for Friday, June 2nd, following closing chapel, 6th grade graduation, and awards presentations. The Booster Club is providing the food, but we need volunteers to help with playground games, as well as help in the kitchen with set-up, serving and clean-up. A sign-up sheet is posted in the main school hallway. If you have not completed your service hours for the year, this would be a great opportunity to log in an hour. J

SUMMER MOVIES ~ Once again, our Booster Club is offering summer movie passes for the Paramount Triplex as a fund raiser. Passes sell for $10.00 each and have 12 punches, making the cost 83 cents per person (even parents)! The punch pass may be used by one individual or by an entire family or a group of friends. Paramount will again have the kids’ special available which includes a bag of popcorn, a kid-size drink, and a candy for $3.00. Hope Lutheran will receive half of all proceeds from tickets sold. Movie passes are on sale in the office through the last day of school. (We will also have a few passes available for purchase through the summer months.) The sale of the movie passes does not imply an endorsement of the movies by Hope Lutheran School. Visit to read reviews.

WIN A WEEK AT CAMP PERKINS! ~ Experience all your favorites at youth camp, try something adventurous, or learn something new. What an AWESOME way to spend a week: boating, swimming, canoeing, mountain biking, archery, rock climbing, campfires, and best of all, spending time with Jesus! Thanks to a generous donor, we are able to offer the opportunity to win a “campership” to Camp Perkins!! We have two half registrations and one full registration. This opportunity is open to Hope students entering grades 3-6 in the fall. (The cost for a camp session is $340.00). We ask that you enter the drawing only if you are sure that you will be able to attend if your name is drawn. For additional information about camp and the session dates, visit . An entry form is included in today’s folder. Winners will be drawn after closing chapel.

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE ~ See the enclosed flyer for details about our summer reading challenge. Prizes will be awarded!!!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL ~ VBS is less than 5 weeks away! We are excited to have students become “Galactic Starveyors”. Our program will be held June 26th ~ 30th, from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day. It is offered free of charge, thanks to generous donations from the congregation of Hope Lutheran Church. Participants will receive a T-shirt and a take-home CD. There will be music, dancing, craft time, snacks and learning about the Master of the Universe, and the relationship He wants with each of us! All children, age 3 through those entering 6th grade, are invited to attend.

We are looking for additional volunteers. Anyone age 12 & up (and have completed 6th grade) are invited to serve as volunteers.

Register online at: Register early to ensure you receive a shirt (and that it is the correct size!).

In addition, there are several area churches holding their own Vacation Bible Schools. Mrs. Oloff has kindly put together a list of all that we know are being offered. There is a copy on the bulletin board in the main hallway if you are interested

library ~ The library is now closed for the summer. Please return any books that have been checked out as soon as possible. Teachers will have a list of any books that have not been returned. Should you find any library books over the summer, please return them to the school office. Thank you!

YEARBOOKS ~ There are still a few extra yearbooks available – first come, first served. The cost is $18.00. You may purchase one in the office, or at the end of year picnic.

SPRING LUNCH, MILK, AND EXTENDED CARE CHARGES ~ Please check in your Friday Folder for any notices of charged meals and/or extended care hours. Because we have reached the end of the TADS billing cycle for the school year, we are unable to add those charges to your May billing. Please stop by the office and pre-pay the number of meals, milks and/or extended care hours you anticipate using for the remainder of the school year. For families enrolled for the next school year, any unpaid charges will be posted to your TADS account for 2017-18. For families not returning to Hope next year, a statement will be generated in our office and mailed to you in June. If you have a change of address, please notify the office. Thank you for your cooperation.

RE-ENROLLMENT: Did you know that re-enrolling now enables you to spread your yearly payments out, allowing your monthly payment to be smaller? Early registration also gives more time for our Day School Committee to plan for next school year. We encourage you to share how great Hope Lutheran School is with friends, coworkers, neighbors, etc. Share how Hope is making a positive difference in your child’s life!

FACEBOOK ~ Hope Lutheran Church & School is on Facebook! See our page for school announcements, updates, and pictures of school events. You do not need to have a Facebook account to view Hope’s Facebook page. Just search for Hope Lutheran School in Idaho Falls.

Box Top/Labels for Education ~ Thank you to everyone who brought in box tops and labels this year. The collection of box tops and labels will continue next school year, so please save them over the summer break. Then bring a bag-full to school in September!

SCRIP~ Thank you to everyone who participated in the Scrip program this year. It’s an easy way to raise money for our school! We will continue to place Scrip orders during the summer months. Frequency of orders will depend on the volume of orders placed. Orders are placed on Tuesdays mornings at 9:30, so your order should be sent to the office or placed on-line no later than 9:30 a.m. Usually, orders are received the following week. Order forms are available in the office. You may also order scrip cards online. Go to . Our enrollment number is: BF329B4D18433. If you wish to place your order online, you may still pay for the order in the school office.

For those families who have not yet experienced the ease of participating in this program – this reminder:    Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift cards from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift cards that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Walmart/Sam’s Club, Cabela’s, Barnes & Noble, J C Penney, Papa Murphy’s, Pizza Hut, Wendy’s, Olive Garden and many, many others. Member families like yours buy the gift cards for full face value, redeem them for full face value, and our school is given a rebate on cards sold.
